accreditation

Rich University is an accredited member of the World-Wide Accreditation Commission of Christian Education Institutions and the National Association of Private Theological Institutions (NAPTI) via TIUA. RU is a member of the National Bible College Association (NBCA).

The U.S. Department of Education affirms that accreditation is a voluntary process, and many reputable educational institutions operate without it. There is no federal mandate for accreditation or recognition, and the standards vary among accreditors. Non-U.S. governmental agencies award accreditation in the United States, making it a voluntary option.

In the United States, there is no centralized authority controlling post-secondary educational institutions. Accreditation arose as a non-governmental, peer evaluation practice to ensure a basic level of quality. Regional or national private educational associations set criteria for sound educational programs and evaluate institutions accordingly.
